BUILDING A RALLY CAR

In January 2025 we purchased a totally original low mileage 1991 Range Rover Classic 3.9l V8 EFI, we didn’t have a plan.

We started with stripping the car interior, electrics, air con, heating and anything that made this car into the luxury wagon it once was. We took everything that wasn’t an essential part of the engine out, and some things that were to lighten the car, increase reliability and simplify where possible.

Having never built a Rally Car or a Race Car we took to Youtube, ChatGPT, Google and forums to research what to do next.

 

Suspension – Terrafirma 2″ Lift kit with all ancillaries

Brakes – Front disc. pad, hoses upgrade

Running gear – Propshafts, steering dampers, Panhard rods

Exhaust – Remove centre box, custom rear exhaust from Car Host Off Road

Intake – Royal Fab Co custom fabricated Snorkel and Intake box, with K+N Filter

Cooling – Allisport Radiator, header tank and power steering

Ignition – Coil, HT Leads, Spark plugs

Safety – Roll cage, seats, harnesses, Fire extinguishers

Electrics – New aux Electrical system, lighting, communications, dashboard, GPS tracking system

Exterior – Custom Guincho Racing Wrap including sponsors
